California Wing,

On behalf of the 2019 CAWG Encampment Command Staff and the Executive Cadre, I am pleased to begin accepting cadet applications to serve on the 2019 CTG Cadre!

Applicants will be invited to Camp San Luis Obispo from 17-19 May to demonstrate their aptitude in areas such as drill, uniform wear, customs and courtesies, knowledge of pertinent cadet program manuals (especially CAWGP 60-70), and written and oral communication skills.

Prerequisites:

• Be a current CAP Cadet in good standing.
• Previously attended Encampment as a student.
• Be able to attend Cadre Selection Exercise (CSX) 17 - 19 May 2019.
• Familiar with the California Wing Encampment Model (The Cadet Training Group)
• Understand Encampment related documents such as: CAPR 52-16, CAPP 52-24, CAWGP 60-70.

Applicants requiring special consideration should complete the online application and then email Maj Christa Cabrera, Commandant of Cadets at: ctg@cawgcap.org. Please note cadre applicants not able to attend CSX will not be able to be evaluated using the same criteria; therefore, they will be considered after applicants attending CSX.

Serving on cadre is an excellent way to apply skill sets you may have obtained from previous experiences and develop new ones. I encourage all cadets to review the available positions below and identify which position to go for!

Available positions include:

  • Curriculum and Planning Officer (1)
  • Flight Commander (14-16)
  • ATS Flight Commander (2)
  • First Sergeant (4)
  • Flight Sergeant (14-16)
  • Deputy Director of Mess (2)
  • Administration Officer/NCO (2)
  • Mess Officer/NCO (20)
  • Logistics Officer/NCO (5)
  • Public Affairs Officer/NCO (5)

For more information on these positions and their responsibilities, please see the CAWGP 60-70 via the CAWG Encampment website (under “Resources”), and please see the “Cadet Cadre” page: http://cawgencampment.cawgcap.org/wp/

Applicants who are selected for encampment cadre positions must attend encampment scheduled for 6 – 13 July 2019, as well as pre-encampment beginning on Wednesday, 3 July.

To apply for a cadre position at the 2019 CAWG Encampment and register for Cadre Selection Exercise held at Camp SLO on 17-19 May 2019, please navigate to: www.cawgcadets.org/enc19cadre

Once at the website, pay close attention to all directions and follow them carefully. You will be expected to upload the following items: Cover letter (addressing roles and responsibilities of position and why you are the best person for the job), resume, F31, F160, F161, F163 (Only if under 18).

The deadline for submitted applications is: 2359 hrs, Friday, 26 April 2018.   There will be ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS!

Your cadre application evaluation begins the moment you apply. Part of the evaluation process includes your attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Missing information on forms, including signatures, will have a negative impact on your application. Remember the Core Value of Excellence and lead by example by completing your application as quickly as possible while also ensuring you pay close attention to detail.

Please contact ctg@cawgcadets.org should you have any questions.

Best of luck to all applicants!
